I lost two lolas in the last year....una si Mama Perla, then just recently, si Nanay Syon.
Nakakalungkot rin. When I arrived in Pangasinan, the first thing I heard from my lolo was "Wala na si Nanay!" This coming from someone who spent close to 50 years of his life with the only woman he truly loved.
It was really sad seeing Tatay going through all the formalities and traditions associated with a funeral. I can't imagine waking up for 9 days greeted by this white casket, a bitter reminder of a great loss.
The whole family, of course, was there.
